Pouches and Totes:

Zippered pouch with lining  — I have used this tute and it is excellent!  I hand sew my zippies, for those of you lucky enough to have a sewing machine, don’t be afraid to use your zipper foot, vroom vroom!

1 hour bag

Easy Peasy Snap Wallets  — something I definitely want to try once I get a sewing machine, but I plan to use sew-in velcro for closure

Tri-fold wallet

For the home:

Pillowcases

Apron in an hour – cool!  1 FQ + 1/2 yard fabric

Quilted Pot holders

Oven Mitts and Fingertip Mitts - I can’t wait to make this fingertip mitts once I get a sewing machine.  I think it will be the perfect project to try out bias tape for the first time.  Update:  I’ve made the fingertip mitts and they are quite nice but they can really only handle taking a hot lid off a pot, NOT anything out of the oven.

Hot Pads - I can’t wait to try this one once I get a sewing machine!  Note in the pictures poly batting is shown but you should always use cotton batting for pot holders!  My bloggy friend barncat tipped me off to this tute!  thank you!

Simple pot holdersThis method makes the most sense to me as a beginner.  I am going to try this one but I am not going to make a patchwork top, I’m just going to use 2 squares of plain ol novelty cotton fabric.

Misc:

Mittens  — I made these mittens by hand just using fleece, they came out quite good but I would definitely make them again so that the thumbs would be better (my error when making my template)
