The other day when I was getting all my ingredients in place to make some vegan chocolate chip cookies, I opened up my canister of brown sugar, and alas, it was empty! Thankfully I had a back-up bag in the pantry. However, it expires in November! Still perfectly fine to use for now, however I don’t want to use it after November 13*. No problem. I wrote on our calendar the day the bag of brown sugar expires so I’ll be sure to remember to buy a replacement bag in plenty of time to prepare for winter baking!
*I need to do a lot of baking between now and then so I’m not throwing out a ton of brown sugar even if it has expired.
